In this section we will attempt to answer some of the questions we get the most often, in hopes to better serve you.  Below you will find selections from our staff, everyone from sales, to technicians, to the owners themselves, that we hope will help answer some of the more common questions about Computer ownership as well as sales and service.

Adware/Spyware/Virus issues?

All three items can seriously compromise how your system runs.  Today with the widespread availability of high-speed internet, and the advancement of virus, and adware/spyware delivery the chances of being adversely affected by one or all is quite high.  Symptoms include, computer running slow, excessive pop-up ads, windows lock ups, etc. Now, the all important question, how do you prevent it, well it is actually quite easy.  As you browse the web be careful of downloading free software as it is often spyware loaded, as far as virus files, follow pretty much the same rules except of course always be cautious when opening emails from unknown senders especially those with attachments.

Hardware/Software Issues?

Hardware problems are often times the easiest to detect.  Any number of components inside the computer itself may fail at any time.  This is handled simply by replacing the part itself. Software problems can result from issues with the software itself, or from a conflict with another piece of software.  Computer Solutions Inc can troubleshoot all main stream software, and is familiar with custom software including dental software, construction software, design software, Salon software and many more.  Both issues are somewhat preventable, as far as hardware goes just make sure to keep you computer clean, inside and out, as well as make sure there is ample air flow to keep things cool.  As far as software issues go, you are kind of at the mercy of the developers as there isn't much else the end user does other that pop a disc in and install.

When Do I Need a new PC?

This question can be a tough one to answer.  The general rule of thumb is if the computer is meeting all your current needs and you plan not to increase your usage or features demanded then there really isn't any reason to upgrade.  However, this gets a little grey when considering if your PC is worth fixing or if it is better to simply upgrade your system all together.  This decision has many factors if you really are not in the position to replace your PC then the decision is easy, repair it, but, if you were planning to replace it or if you find yourself on the borderline, take some time to discuss it with us, we can help show you all the options.
